Replacing the standard 2.0-liter four pot that sits under the hood of the standard Elantra models, the Hyundai Elantra N-Line gets a hopped-up 1.6-liter turbocharged power plant that shoves you forward with 200 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. That puts it directly in line with the Honda Civic Si, and not far behind models like the Golf GTI hatchback and Jetta GLI sedan. Paired with either a six-speed three pedal gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch paddle shifted transmission, the Elantra N-Line gets the powertrain options just right for those seeking both daily drivability and back road joy.

A powerful engine with no control would be fairly useless, so Hyundai has done well to take care of the platform that the Elantra N-Line sits upon as well. A sport-tuned suspension features multi-link rear suspension for balanced cornering and impressive grip even through bumpy corners. Meanwhile, uprated brakes help get you slowed down for corners, and the stiffer suspension components give you better feedback and more steering and braking response than softer models.
