Did you know that your motor oil has many important jobs to do? It does, and in order for it to do its job properly, it needs to be clean. Not only does your motor oil work hard to lubricate your engine and all of the moving parts, but it picks up all of the debris and contaminants that would otherwise damage your vehicle. Your oil also keeps your vehicle from overheating by forming a barrier between all the inner moving parts. Since you can't physically see it, is there a way to tell when it needs to be changed? Actually, there is. You can check your "dipstick" under the hood and see the color of your oil to gauge whether or not it needs to be changed. If it's fairly transparent, you're good to go. Otherwise, it's probably best to get it changed. It is always recommended to go to a trained technician to get an oil change, and they can advise you on when the recommended mileage is that you should get your next oil change.
