For quite a few years now, Hyundai has been developing its first-ever hybrid platform vehicle to make its own unique impact on the segment. Nine months ago, we finally saw the face of that car: the new 2017 Ioniq. Coming in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and EV, it’s the first of its ilk to be launched with a complete portfolio of low and zero emission options.

The question mark, however, was gas mileage. Would the Ioniq be able to compete with segment greats? The answer is a resounding yes. The hybrid variant gets 54 mpg highway, 55 mpg city, 55 mpg combined, while the plug-in gets an even more insane 59 mpg highway, 57 mpg city, and 58 mpg combined. That best pretty much all of hybrids on the market right now!

The new Ioniq goes on sale this winter. With 2017 shaping up to be quite an exciting year for our preferred automaker, we’d like to invite anyone eyeing our stylish lineup down to our Hyundai dealership in Beaumont, TX to learn more.
